0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
  • External stabilization increases infraspinatus EMG activity during the wiper exercise.
  • External rotation strength also improves with stabilization.
  • Effect is greater in individuals with scapular dyskinesis.
  • Implications for shoulder rehab protocols.

"This study investigated the effect of external stabilization on infraspinatus EMG activity and shoulder external rotation strength during the wiper exercise. Participants included individuals with and without scapular dyskinesis. Results showed that external stabilization significantly increased infraspinatus activation and external rotation strength in both groups, with a greater increase in the dyskinesis group, suggesting potential benefits for shoulder rehabilitation protocols."
